Weight Loss Challenge

The mens group I am a part of is conducting a little challenge. We are all challenging eachother in a weight loss contest. All of us have a desire to lose weight to feel and look more healthy. So we put pen to paper last night and decided this was the best and most exciting way to do it. I am really looking forward to this and going through the process with 3 close friends.

So in return I have decided to make my goals known to all of you...

I currently weigh 197 lbs. These are my goals:

I want to lose 12% of my current weight which would bring me down to 173 lbs.
I want to be able to run with my wife when she wants to go on a family run...she usually runs anywhere from 3 - 5 miles.
I want to be able to compete in a 10K race by September.
I want to lose fat and build and tone my muscles...Have good definition.
I want to feel and look healthy and keep the weight off once I reach my goal.
I want to reduce my blood pressure and cholestrol levels to normal.

There you have it! I will keep everyone updated on my progress. My goal is to have this all accomplished by my wedding anniversary (August 17th)!

Wow! I am so proud of you guys. I think this will be so fun for you...I know how determined you are to win so KICK SOME BUTT!! I'm glad you have opened it up for others to keep you accountable...it's always better if I don't. ;) Just remember, I love you know matter what you look like! However, I must say I am most excited for us to be able to go on family runs and I am definitely going to run that 10K race with you!

I am stoked for the challenge! The Lord has been good to bring us together and I thank Him for your friendship. What was it Gamaliel said? If this is of man it will fail, but if it is of God no one can stop it! Let's praise our Lord who is mighty to see us through this battle!
